Meet Ace! A sweet, hardworking pup who loves nothing more than to make his doggo friends and humans happy. He also likes to play dress up. How cute is that?!
Ace demonstrated the perfect traits to be a guide dog. His trainer, Sandy Steinblums, knew if she took him out to socialize him, he would be even more successful. Ace had to get used to crowds and meeting new people without losing focus.
Sandy took him to see Guys and Dolls at their local theater. Ace LOVED every minute of it. And the cast loved meeting him too!

To test Ace around larger crowds, Sandy took him to Disneyland. She wasn’t sure how he would do but had complete faith in him. Then, suddenly she saw Ace’s tail begin to wag. More so than usual!
When Sandy turned around, she saw Ace wagging his tail like crazy. But why? Sandy then realized Pluto, Ace’s hero, was coming closer. The guide dog couldn’t contain himself!!!

Like a good boy, Ace, who is passing his guide dog training with flying colors, remained completely still as Pluto approached. The only thing moving was his tail, which Ace really couldn’t help.
He was going doggo-crazy on the inside. Like he was thinking: “OMG! I’m meeting my hero!” His excitement couldn’t be contained.

Sandy shared the precious video of Ace meeting Pluto, on her Facebook page and viewers went wild! Some viewers, however, wanted to know why Ace was going against his guide dog training, so Sandy wrote this:
“We went to Disneyland for a few hours as a socialization experience — what you didn’t see AFTER the 14-15 seconds video where he settled in a DOWN was his DOWN/STAY for a few minutes while Pluto tried to break his stay… This was a training outing and I was too far back to correct him, but golly-be….he responded anyway. Yep! That is my boy and I am proud of him and love the Disney characters for being so kind and helpful! It will be 6-9 months of extensive training with licensed trainers before Ace has the opportunity to graduate as a guide dog and has the right match in a human partner.”
Soon after the Disney trip, Ace graduated. Sandy was thrilled he would go on to help others but of course, she was sad to see him go.

“Ace makes me so proud as he has grown up. He is no longer that silly little pup. While his goofiness has not completely gone away, Ace listens when you tell him what to do and, his beautiful smile is always in view. Ace takes everything with a grain of salt, knows his commands and wants to please.”
