It was a story about a boy who, as a gift from his mom, receives a three-legged dog. The boy does not like his gift. He ignores the dog.
This story started out four years ago as a web-comic called “Three-Legged Dog” and the hearts of readers everywhere were touched by it. A German filmmakers decided to adapt this comic into a short film, and the result is magnificent.
Animated short films are highly underrated and don’t get the attention they deserve. But it wasn’t always like that. Back in the day they would show animated shorts before a feature in the theaters. Of course nowadays we get the annoying film trailer after film trailer treatment.
But Disney has been bringing this tradition back as they have shown short films like Paperman, which premiered before Wreck-It Ralph in 2012.

The title for this short film is called “The Present.” It was actually a thesis project for filmmaker Jacob Frey. He wrote, directed, and animated the film himself.
So far he’s had it screened at over 180 film festivals all around the world. And it has received over 50 awards!
