
Rescuers believe she was previously tortured and used as a bait dog. But despite her past, she is as sweet as can be.

They rushed Merritt to the nearest animal hospital where they discovered four breaks in her back leg. After seeing a Board Certified Surgeon who specializes in Orthopedic Surgery, they decided that her injury was too severe and that amputation was the best solution.
Merritt is now being fostered by one of the officers while she heals. She will eventually go to therapy to build up her strength again and will be available for adoption once she is fully recovered.
